Song length and Radio airplay

Updated: Feb 10

So you’re aiming to get radio airplay for your tracks on major radio stations like those that report to Mediabase and Billboard, well your song length may hit or miss an opportunity for you to get airplay. You’ll need to hit the mark at 3:30. Sadly, Songs longer than 3:59 often get passed over for airplay regardless of how good they sound. Now you know, here is what you can do:

  1. Cut your track before you send it to the Radio station for airplay.

  2. Shorter songs length, write shorter verses and get to the point and don’t overdo the chorus.

  3. Keep the 3:30 mark in mind

    Happy recording!
